Members back Express deal
NUJ members at Express Newspapers in London and Preston have voted to accept a pay deal of 3 per cent backdated to 1 January that will lead to long hoped for talks on productivity.
Journalists have opposed moves by the company to outsource work and management has now agreed to discuss bringing work back in-house.
Journalists at the papers believe they stand to gain from a potential agreement on outsourced work. It is expected that productivity savings will result in an improved deal for journalists at the company’s titles and have the potential to improve job security.
