A JOURNALIST in Azerbaijan who was the victim of a knife attack claims the wrong man has been convicted of the crime. Journalist Agil Khalil insists his attackers were security ministry employees, not the convicted man, and that the trial had been staged with the sole purpose of discrediting him.
KHIM SAMBO, a Cambodian journalist working for the opposition paper Moneakseka Khmer, was shot dead, along with his 21-year-old son, in the run-up to the Cambodian general election in July. The paper’s editor had previously been charged with printing allegations that Cambodia’s foreign minister had ties to the former Khmer Rouge regime.
