Papers trashed
SEVERAL men armed with knives and teargas grenades raided the premises of two privately owned newspapers in Senegal on August 17, destroying equipment and material used to produce the newspapers.
The raids on L’As and 24 heures followed verbal threats against the papers from the country’s handicraft and air transport minister, Farba Senghor, after they published stories about his private life.
