Radio deaths

SEPARATE attacks killed two Filipino broadcasters for the Radio Mindanao Network within four days in August. On August 4 presenter Dennis Cuesta was ambushed and shot several times in General Santos City. He died three days later. On August 7 programme director Martin Roxas of the sister station dyVR was shot from a motorcycle in Roxas City.

Four Filipino journalists/media practitioners have been murdered this year and 33 since 2001, when Gloria Arroyo became president.
