Tim’s right to work
WHAT A SHAME editor Tim Gopsill’s request to continue working on after retirement date was turned down by the NUJ.
It doesn’t seem much of a way to recognise more than 21 years contribution to the union. As this is an elected post, if the membership had any objections to Tim staying on past retirement, we could have made our feelings clear by voting for someone else.
Sometimes we don’t do ourselves any favours by the way we treat our friends, something I’m sure our enemies take note of.
