Union won me a job
IN THE SUMMER I had a dispute with a radio station where I was conducting some freelance work, which resulted in my suspension. But it was concluded with a resounding victory in my favour.
From working to a verbal freelance contract — the terms of which were the source of the dispute — I ended up with a permanent position on the staff.
This would not have been achieved without the sterling efforts of John Toner and Pamela Morton in the NUJ freelance department.
They handled the issue swiftly and professionally and I could not fail to be impressed.
