A passion for writing, filming and people
MARK WILSON, who died in January, aged only 30, had thought of becoming an estate agent, but after doing work experience at Tyne Tees TV discovered a passion for writing, filming and meeting people from all walks of life.
He became joint Father of the NUJ chapel and worked tirelessly to represent newsroom colleagues, always to their satisfaction.
Management liked to deal with Mark because of his evenhandedness and cool, clear head. When he had a problem to sort, you knew it would be dealt with thoroughly and with no counting the personal cost.
Two years ago he left to become a charity manager and we missed him then; even more so now.
