Dressed for dinner
ROBERT (Bob) Thomas who has died at 85, was one of the longest serving PA reporters at the Law Courts in London. He also covered official dinners for The Times. In full evening dress “Thomas of The Times” would set off from the courts to banquets in the City and Royal Academy.
A lifelong NUJ member, he was chairman of the High Court Journalists Association, visiting lawyers and journalists around Europe. Before joining the PA he was a district reporter for the Sussex Express, the Bexhill Observer and Brighton Argus.
