Paul Robinson: won a Sony
PAUL ROBINSON, who died in March, was a veteran producer and former editor with the BBC in Belfast.
He had started as a junior reporter for the Armagh Guardian and also reported for the Belfast Newsletter, Belfast Telegraph and the Irish Independent in Dublin.
His broadcasting career began at Downtown Radio and he spent a short time with Ulster Television before moving to the BBC, where he produced the Good Morning Ulster and Talkback programmes and the Stephen Nolan Show on Radio Ulster, which won a Sony award.
He was a long-term member of the NUJ and was a leading voice in the industrial action during the dispute over the BBC’s the refusal to show the Real Lives “At the Edge of the Union” programme in 1985.
