WANT TO KNOW HOW TO MANAGE?
They say people get promoted to their own level of incompetence, but often that is because nobody has trained them to manage.
The best journalists don’t necessarily make natural managers, but they get promoted to be section editors and given people to manage and budgets to spend, all with no training.
The NUJ has a course to rectify that — Editorial Management — it’s for anyone stepping up. It will give you the tools to make a success of your promotion.
There is a course on March 5–6 and another is planned for the summer.
