Not really the biggest story

MANY THANKS for the mention of my debut book, Finding Shannon: The Inside Story, in the January/February edition. There was, however, one point that I would like to clarify.

Of course the Shannon saga is not the biggest story I have ever been involved in; that claim, set against my coverage of tragic incidents in which thousands have died, looks ridiculous.

What I should have said is that it is the story I have devoted the biggest part of my life to, becoming immersed in it like no other.

No fault on the Journalist’s part, the words were reported exactly as I had spoken them; it was me getting carried away in the midst of an extremely busy and exciting time.
