It’s free and it’s unionised
JOURNALISTS on a London daily business freesheet have voted overwhelmingly to have their pay and conditions negotiated by the NUJ. More than 95 per cent voted in favour of union recognition at City AM.
The paper, handed to commuters in London’s financial districts, claims 350,000 readers.
The title’s 22 journalists backed recognition in a secret workplace ballot ordered by the Central Arbitration Committee. Barry Fitzpatrick, the NUJ’s Head of Publishing, said: “This vote confirms that people continue to regard trade union representation as vital in these turbulent times.”
