IRISH freelance Declan Lyons is a lucky member who has combined work and leisure with the publication of a book on cycling in France, a lifelong hobby. Cycling the Canal du Midi is a guide to the popular 240-km ride alongside the historic canal that links the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.
Declan Lyons, a PR editor and consultant in Dublin, said: “I’m delighted to be able to give people the opportunity to explore this beautiful part of France.”.
Cycling the Canal du Midi; Cicerone; £12.95.
ANOTHER member with a book on France is Paris branch’s Peter Fieldman who has just published 1066 The Conquest, a novel based on the life of William the Conqueror. “Rather than a history book,” he says, “I have written an adventure story that I hope will appeal to readers young and old.” Published by Grosvenor House, the price is £10.66. What else?
