I’m still going strong

IT WAS a surprise for the dwindling band of those of your readers who remember what my face looks like to see it decorating the obituary notice of Bob Thomas (last issue) whom I had the pleasure of knowing for many years both as an assistant night editor at The Times and in the Press Association Law Service at the Royal Courts of Justice.

Many and enjoyable were the annual High Court Journalists’ Association dinners that he and, later, I helped to organise as a point of contact between the judges, lawyers and journalists based at the Royal Courts of Justice; now sadly defunct as Fleet Street sponsorship evaporated.

Please may I reassure the survivors of that dwindling band that I am not marking time in God’s waiting room but am soldiering on and still enjoying the post I have occupied since 1981 as Editor of the Times Law Report.
