NUJ short courses in professional subjects are designed for mid-career or new entrant journalists who need to update their skills. The programme focuses on technical skills and new technologies but also includes courses in feature writing and writing for the web which are less technology-specific.
New courses across the range of journalism skills are developed regularly and www.nujtraining.org.uk is the first place to look if you want to know about them.
Blogging and video blogging courses
There are two new courses on blogging — Setting up a blog and video blogging for print journalists — that highlight the growing number of self-publishing options available and provide basic blogging and video production skills.
Participants will gain practical skills in how to set up a basic blog, publish a post and make simple modifications to available templates.
Participants on the video blogging course will produce and upload a short video blog.
The two courses can be taken together.
