Sports freelance kept himself fit
West Cumbrian freelance Gordon Brown has died at the age of 71. He was an NUJ Life Member. Having started his career on The Warrington Guardian, he moved to Whitehaven and worked there for 40 years. He covered news and sport and was himself a keen cyclist and table tennis player. Gordon kept himself super-fit and would cycle to rugby and soccer matches.
In latter years he was a prolific freelance correspondent for radio, TV and newspapers in Cumbria, for national papers, and his beloved Cycling News.
