South Wales recognition vote
JOURNALISTS at the South Wales Evening Post in Swansea will be voting on the right to be formally represented by the NUJ later in the summer. The union and managers have agreed the make-up of the “bargaining unit” — the number that will vote in the ballot under the auspices of the government’s Central Arbitration Committee. Union officials are confident of a positive result from the 92-strong workforce, which would add a fourth title to the NUJ’s list of “recognised” workplaces in the Northcliffe Newspapers group.
