Freelances’ personal data most at risk

AS ONE OF the journalists affected by The Daily Mail group losing personal data I would like to make a point.

Having freelanced for some two dozen organisations my banking details must be on any number of databases. This is the first time I’m aware of them going astray.

The chances of freelances suffering this kind of security breach must be much higher simply because we have no choice but to entrust our data to many different organisations.

This might be an issue the NUJ’s freelance organiser might want to take up.
